Feedback from Past Participants

Morgan’s workshop was the bridge I needed to go from two decades in the studio to painting exterior murals. I gained skills in paint application, designing and working with clients, writing proposals and contracts and more. Morgan generously shared her knowledge. I loved the opportunity to paint with the other artists and also do a small mural of my own. I left with the confidence I needed and in no time at all I had mural work. I highly recommend Morgan’s mural workshop.

Morgan, you have an outstanding way with popping paint colors that complement each other on the wall. I enjoyed seeing your use of color, perception, and space most. One thing that fascinated me was seeing you mix the paints. I enjoyed your freedom. Also, you didn’t have much photo reference when doing the roses, flowers, sky, redwoods, etc, you kind of knew your way around painting nature. That was really cool. Kind of like you had your own photo gallery in your head. I guess I was more amazed by the way the project came naturally to you. The way you paint a huge wall fearlessly. I soaked up a lot of small things that were unmentioned by comparing our painting processes. You’re a dope painter who not only maximizes time but can also handle your own business. VERY rare. Also, you set aside time for yourself. Go you!! True inspiration. Before this workshop, I was pretty over murals, but I’m back in the game. You wouldn’t be over-exaggerating if you marketed your workshop as life-changing.

Morgan, I loved attending your class. I definitely learned a lot and it helped me believe that I can paint murals that can make a real difference to a space and add that personal touch. The most incredible thing was how you explained the business side of the mural-making process and were so open and upfront about the way you do things.
The mural painting technique I learned was so amazing that I wouldn’t have ever been able to figure it out on my own. I got to learn about all the materials you use and how projects of different scales are executed. You also shared your designing process which was wonderful. I am really grateful to you for sharing all this information with us and giving me this opportunity to be a part of this class. It was so worth it to be able to paint with all the other artists and learn from each other’s experiences.

In 2016, I was a professional artist specializing in chalkboard art, but looking to expand my scope to custom murals. I wasn’t sure where to start, or even if I could paint a mural at all. Morgan was very welcoming and personable, and invited all of us to participate in the design process, making it feel like the murals were a collaboration of our group. I gathered helpful tips on materials, equipment, and even technique that I still use today. Morgan also broke down the business side of the process from the proposal to the contract, which was extremely helpful for me. Morgan’s class helped me realize that I can, indeed, paint a mural! Since the class, I have pivoted my business to exclusively murals, and I am currently finishing up my largest, most complex mural to date.

I traveled from Canada to take Morgan’s Master Class for public exterior mural painting. I’d been painting indoor murals for several years but hoped the class would give me the experience and confidence to expand my business to also paint exterior murals. Morgan showed us her techniques and approach, but there was also much more than just painting instruction. While we painted together she also shared with us how she approaches the business side of mural work. I came away inspired to create and with a better understanding that we, as artists, can have a powerful impact on our world. We painted four large exterior walls at a multicultural elementary school. The children and staff made us feel welcomed and appreciated, including introductions at a school-wide kickoff assembly and ending with a thank you lunch. The children ran out at recess to watch the progression – drilling us with questions about what we were doing. I enjoyed chatting with the students so much I earned the nickname “PR” from the group. Seeing the student’s eyes and smiles grow as we completed each scene was magical. I am grateful for the time and energy Morgan put into everything and feel that I can call her any time if I had questions.
